Alpine village and modern tourist resort: two souls of the same village.
In the Gesso della Barra valley, lying in the sun in a glacial basin between the waters of three streams, Entracque offers a wide range of experiences. From walks through the quiet old town to relaxing excursions through the many villages to a large number of outdoor sports: downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowshoes, ski mountaineering, climbing, via ferrata, fishing ...The Entracque cross-country centre, with its 30 km of tracks, is the most important in the province of Cuneo. The highest mountains of the Maritimes surround the village, all to be discovered on foot or mtb.
Do not miss a visit to the Uomini e Lupi Wildlife Centre which overlooks the pretty town hall square!
A country of ancient sacred and secular traditions, in Entracque there are some unmissable events. In September, the Potato Fair takes place, a typical local product. Only every five years, during Easter week, the traditional Parlate is performed (next edition 2020), a dramatic re-enactment of the Passion of Christ, with processions, recitations and moments of celebration.
The economic fortune of Entracque is written in its name and is linked to the wealth of water in the area: between the sixties and eighties, two large artificial hydroelectric reservoirs were built, just above the town. . The guided tour of the Luigi Einaudi underground hydroelectric plant is an interesting opportunity for schools and tourists.
