There is a constant increase in the number of tourists choosing to visit Alpi Marittime Park and the surrounding area by bike. They discover the natural beauty and scenery as they pedal.
The three valleys in the protected area, branching off from Borgo San Dalmazzo offer climbs of all levels of difficulty and outward distances mostly between 25 and 50 kilometres some reaching 70. Only the Gesso and Stura valleys are connected, via the Colletto pass on a stretch of tarmac that makes it possible to create circular routes with a wide radius.
The Vermenagna, Gesso and Stura valleys are of interest to cyclists, and as such have been stages or stopover points on the Tour de France or Giro d'Italia races on several occasions.
A real must in this area, reserved for competent cyclists is the transboundary loop Grand Tour Alpi Marittime-Mercantour. A circuit that links the most important mountain passes in the Southern Alps and the great climbs on which the pages of epic Italian and French cycling have been written.
